坂井泉水は、数々の名曲の代表作を歌い上げてきました。デビュー曲「さよなら、孤独よ」は、1991年にテレビドラマ「理想と現実の結婚」の主題歌に抜擢され、ミュージックビデオは映画「Love Letter」の岩井俊二監督が手掛けました。

ZARDの代表的ヒット曲といえば、1993年にリリースされた「諦めないで」でしょう。この曲は、日本の応援歌
投票で1位を獲得しました。バブル景気の真っ只中にリリースされたこの曲は、前向きな闘志に満ち溢れ、誰も
が勇気と希望を抱くことができる曲です。2023年には「諦めないで」発売30周年を迎え、この時代を象徴する感動的な作品を記念して、ミュージックビデオのフルバージョンが公開されました。

『スラムダンク』に登場するキャラクター「赤木晴子」は、同じく神奈川県出身の坂井泉水がモデルではないかという噂がネット上で広まっています。原作者の井上雄彦氏はこれを否定していませんが、坂井泉水の若々しく美しい容姿が広く受け入れられていることを示しています。
